Storing Your Rabbit Vibrator

You might think it’s enough to have cleaned (and dried) your rabbit vibrator. But once you’ve done that, you need to find a good place to keep it between uses. It turns out that carefully storing your rabbit vibrator is more important than you’d think!

However, before you tuck your rabbit away for some rest;

– make sure it is completely dry – everywhere (even behind the ears), as this important to prevent mould and mildew from forming

– make sure the batteries have been removed (you have to do this for cleaning anyway), and store these separately from your vibrator – this avoids your vibrator getting contaminated if the batteries happened to leak – it’s also good for your batteries, as it makes sure your vibrator doesn’t get turned on accidentally if it gets moved, and drains your batteries

– make sure you find a safe – and convenient! – place to put your vibrator when you’re not using it, and make sure it isn’t touching another sex toy – more on this below…

STORE YOUR RABBIT VIBRATOR SEPARATELY

storing your rabbit vibratorThis might sound strange, but it’s very important that you’re storing your rabbit  vibrator separately from any other sex toy. This is because the materials vibrators are made of can interact with each other, if they are touching, and cause the vibrator to melt, become misshapen or become discoloured.

Sometimes it’s the same materials that react with each other and sometimes it’s different materials that mess each other up. Don’t worry, they are still fine inside you, but bunnies just don’t play well together, so the most important thing about storing your rabbit vibrator, is to keep your rabbits apart.

Some materials are more potentially reactive than others. Silicone, realistic-feel and jelly rubber toys are the most reactive. Skin-safe rubber and ABS plastics are generally okay. But to be on the safe side, store EACH vibrator or sex toy in a way that means it’s not touching any other.

WRAPPING UP YOUR RABBIT

You can wrap your vibrator in fabric, put it in a sock, put it in a bag – as long as there’s no risk of it becoming unwrapped or uncovered and rolling up next to another sex toy. The packaging your vibrator came in, or a nice shoe box could be used. Tupperware boxes are also a good option.

However, DON’T put your rabbit vibrator in a plastic bag to keep it separate, as your vibrator could also react to the plastic. Plus, plastic can gather humidity and that’s not good for them either.

Also stay away from fluffy and woolly materials, as bits of fluff can stick to your vibrator, and then you have to waste time wiping them off next time you get your vibrator out, when you really just want to get it in!

A lot of high-end vibrators these days come with cute carry pouches or sleek satin storage bags. These aren’t just a gimmick (as I first thought) but are actually an easy and effective way to keep your rabbit safe and sound between usage. You can buy these on their own and they’re generally only a few pounds – see the selection below, for a cheap and easy way to rest your rabbit. Or you could buy a nice simple make-up or toiletries bag for it.

FINDING YOUR RABBIT A COMFORTABLE HOME

The next thing is to make sure that your wrapped/boxed rabbit vibrator is put in a safe place. This means somewhere dry, cool and dark because moisture, direct heat, and sunlight will all damage vibrators.

So don’t put your beautifully wrapped vibrator in the airing cupboard or keep it nestled under your pillow on top of your electric blanket. Don’t keep it anywhere that’s likely to get too hot, too humid – or too cold either.

You might also want to think of a place that’s out of reach of curious children, pets, flatmates or partners…. Although, at the same time, you don’t want it to be too inconvenient for YOU to get to, at those moments when the urge takes you..

Keep the (separately stored) batteries close for the same reason.

Storage Products

Obviously you don’t have to buy a special bag to keep your bunny in.  However, there might be situations in which you’ll find it a handy investment, and you can find some very inexpensive ones below

For example, if you travel with your rabbit vibrator, you might find it more discreet and convenient to have a separate little bag for it, so that it won’t be exposed in your luggage at an awkward moment.

Personally, I’ve discovered that I quite like keeping my favourite vibrator in its own bag, as I feel like I’m unwrapping a present every time I open it, and it’s become a bit of a pre-sex ritual in a way 🙂

Okay, here are some lovely satin and velvet bags for storage, for travelling, or perfect if you’re giving someone a vibrator as a gift…

All are under £4 so a bargain way to treat yourself, or someone else, and all come with free UK delivery.
